General

These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made with The Crown Hotel, whether booked directly by telephone, email, via our website, or in person. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

Reservations and Confirmation

All bookings are subject to availability. A booking is considered confirmed once you have received written confirmation from The Crown Hotel.

We recommend booking well in advance, particularly for weekends and peak walking seasons, as availability is limited in the village.

Payment

Payment terms will be clearly stated at the time of booking.

In most cases, we require either:

  • A deposit at the time of booking, with the balance payable before or on arrival, or
  • Full payment in advance for short stays, peak periods, or special dates

Accepted payment methods will be advised when you book.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans sometimes change and aim to be fair and reasonable.

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival will receive a full refund or the option to transfer the booking to alternative dates, subject to availability.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival may be charged up to the full cost of the booking. However, if we are able to re-let the room, we will refund any amount recovered, less any reasonable administrative costs.
  • In the event of a no-show or early departure, the full booking cost may be charged.

We strongly recommend guests take out appropriate travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

Minimum Stay Requirements

From early March to the end of October, weekend bookings are subject to a minimum two-night stay.
The same minimum stay requirement applies to Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.

These conditions will be made clear at the time of booking.

Check-in and Check-out

  • Check-in is available from 15:00 on the day of arrival.
  • Check-out is by 10:00 on the day of departure.

If you require an earlier check-in or later check-out, please contact us in advance. We will do our best to accommodate requests, subject to availability.

Children

Children are welcome at The Crown Hotel. Family rooms are available and should be booked in advance.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times while on the premises.

Accessibility

One of our ground-floor bedrooms has been adapted to provide access for those with mobility issues. Guests with accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact us before booking to ensure the room meets their individual needs.

Dogs

Well-behaved dogs may be welcome by prior arrangement only. Please contact us before booking to confirm availability, applicable charges, and any restrictions.

Smoking

The Crown Hotel is a non-smoking property. Smoking or vaping is not permitted in bedrooms or indoor public areas.

Guests who smoke in bedrooms may be charged for any additional cleaning or damage incurred.

Guest Conduct and Damage

We ask all guests to respect the hotel, other guests, and our neighbours.

Guests may be held responsible for any loss, damage, or excessive cleaning required as a result of their stay. Any charges will be reasonable and proportionate to the cost of repair or cleaning.

In the unlikely event of serious or disruptive behaviour, we reserve the right to terminate a stay without refund.

Food and Drink

Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies in advance. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee an entirely allergen-free environment.

Force Majeure

The Crown Hotel cannot be held responsible for cancellations, delays, or changes resulting from events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, severe weather, utility failures, transport disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Privacy and Data Protection

Any personal information provided by guests will be used solely for the purpose of managing bookings and will be handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
